Words With Friends word finder

A Words With Friends word finder that starts with your screenshot and returns plays that actually fit the board.

Find words from a screenshot

Board-aware results

TileSmith finds words that fit the current board position, not just any word your rack letters can make.

Cross-word checking

Every candidate play is checked for valid cross words so the result list only shows legally playable moves.

Blank tile support

Use a question mark for blank tiles in your rack. The word finder explores all valid letter assignments.

More than an anagram solver

A rack-only anagram tool can list every word your seven letters can make. But in Words With Friends, a word is only useful if it can connect to the existing board. TileSmith reads the board from your screenshot first, then searches for words that attach legally.

That distinction matters on a dense board. Your letters might spell a great word, but if there is nowhere to place it — no valid anchor, or the cross words it creates are not in the dictionary — it will not appear in the results.

How the word search works

TileSmith identifies anchor squares: empty cells adjacent to placed tiles where a new word can legally attach. It then searches your rack letters for plays that extend from each anchor, checking both the main word and any cross words created. Plays are ranked by score.

Correcting misread tiles

After the screenshot is processed, the board appears as an editable grid. If the OCR misread a tile, tap the square and fix it before the word finder runs. One wrong letter on an anchor square can change the legal move list significantly.
